What we've been up to this month:

Grief Encounter were thrilled to be part of the inaugural UK Motherless Daughters Symposium in London in early April. The panel of speakers included author Hope Edelman, Jenni Thomas who founded Child Bereavement UK, author and journalist Clover Stroud, actress and Comedian Beth Rylance, and Psychotherapist Mandy Gosling.

Grief Encounter Founder Dr Shelley Gilbert MBE was the final speaker of the conference. She challenged the audience to think about what we know in ourselves but others might not.

Following a bereavement, you may experience feelings similar to shock, despair, denial, anger, fear, guilt, anxiety, relief and sadness. Whilst these feelings are perhaps difficult to manage, it is comforting to know that they are perfectly ‘normal’ emotions following a sudden or anticipated bereavement.
