Grief Encounter Aug 18 What we've been up to this month: Grenfell Workshop At the beginning of this month we provided a successful drama and arts therapeutic workshop for the children affected by the Grenfell fire, and for the children that live in the community. We had around 20 children attend who created a beautiful piece of artwork. X Factor Live Auditions at Wembley Arena X Factor kindly donated tickets to our bereaved families so that they could attend auditions at Wembley Arena this summer. We were able to provide a great evening of entertainment for 86 guests! Grief Encounter @ The Lodge The summer break has provided an excellent opportunity to re-decorate and update our counselling rooms at The Lodge. We would like to offer a huge thanks to Loretta Rubin for her wonderful input and design of the counselling rooms and to all those who donated time and resources to make this possible. The new rooms will be ready and back in use from September. Good Grief Training Our unique, accredited Good Grief Training will begin a new course on the 17th September 2018, and take place over 6 months. The programme comprises eight individual sessions presented within three modules of learning; Encountering Bereavement / Unfolding Bereavement / Containing Bereavement. The sessions will be held in the evenings at Stephens House, Finchley, London, N3 3QE. The programme has a strong experiential focus, and students will be expected to participate in practical action methods alongside their theoretical learning. The course employs group and experiential learning combined with grief theory. This provides course students with a direct and integrated understanding of the methods and methodologies which together constitute a practical, effective and therapeutic approach to bereavement. There are still a few spaces left on this course and if you are interested, please contact [email protected] for further information. Grief Encounter Clinical Panel A Clinical panel has been appointed and tasked with offering independent expertise on the Clinical Services of Grief Encounter, ensuring an innovative and contextual approach.
