What we've been up to this month:

November was a busy month at Kidscape. On 10th November, we celebrated Friendship Friday, a day for schools and people alike to celebrate positive relationships. It was our biggest Friendship Friday ever. Here’s some of our highlights…

Strictly professional dancers AJ Pritchard and Chloe Hewitt, and Gogglebox star Reverend Kate Bottley wore yellow for the day

Supermodel Twiggy also got into the yellow mood and showed off an iconic picture from the sixties!

Of course, Team Kidscape (and our kids!) got into the Friendship Friday spirit in yellow

The yellow theme was phenomenally popular, and mum Lisa made this lively shirt for the occasion

Park Primary School dressed up in outfits that reflected their personalities and made new friends

Children at Kestrel’s Field made friendship bracelets to give to their new friends

Blogger Part Time Working Mummy shared this beautiful, heartfelt post about connecting with others, inspiring many to go out and chat to someone they’d never chatted to.

Jill Halfpenny connected with a friend for a Friendship Friday lunch

Children’s author Julie Hodgson had a playdate at the Mini Zoo

Preston Grange Primary School’s reception class passed around the hand of friendship in this adorable video

Westacre Middle School filled up their special Acts of Kindness board

St Margaret’s School set up a Make A Friend seat in the playground

Alice had a super playdate

These are just a few examples of what fabulous people have been doing up and down the UK. We’re still hearing from more and more schools who have raised funds for Kidscape through Friendship Friday, and we’re truly grateful.

Hot on the heels of Friendship Friday was Anti-Bullying Week, organised by our friends over at the Anti-Bullying Alliance. To kick off proceedings, our CEO Lauren Seager-Smith appeared on a livestream on Mumsnet with Anti-Bullying Alliance patron, pop star and CBeebies presenter Andy Day, to answer questions about bullying from families.

This month, we’re getting ready for Christmas with our ZAPvent calendar. Every Friday in the run-up to Christmas, we’ll be posting a video from one of the young people who has attended a ZAP anti-bullying and confidence building workshop, where they’ll tell the story of their journey. Keep an eye out over on our social media and YouTube channel!
