What we've been up to this month:

  1. We hosted an event at the Greater London Authority on the unnecessary criminalisation of looked-after children. Several young people shared their stories of their interactions with the criminal justice system throughout their care journey. Deputy Mayor Sophie Linden reiterated the need for a trauma-informed approach to policing and working with looked-after children. More info on our website
  2. We put together five blog posts on salient issues affecting care-experienced people which were released on our website throughout care leavers week:
    1. Unjust criminalisation
    2. Youth mental health
    3. Lack of resources and training in service provision
    4. Affordable housing
    5. Protected characteristic
  3. We hosted an OPEN EVENING showcasing the whole of our service offer for care-experienced young people. More information here
  4. About 30 representatives of our corporate partners attended an early breakfast morning focussing on unconscious bias and inclusion. Blog post in the making
  5. A group of young people were invited into the offices of Leo Burnett, a global advertising and marketing agency.
