What we've been up to this month:

This month we unveiled a brand new education programme, which was just what the teachers ordered! GCSE Drama students are now required to understand and write about every aspect of a theatre production, so with the support of Mischief Theatre, we devised PlayXray.

The project began with 120 students from 4 schools going to see The Play that Goes Wrong.  Students then took part in a full day of workshops on directing, acting, set design, and costume & prop design led by members of Mischief Theatre Company. The day closed with an inspiring Q&A session with the 3 playwrights.

We sent students a comprehensive resource pack to help them ‘deconstruct’ the production, as well as videos of particular scenes to aid their written work.  We've had some fantastic feedback from participating schools, including this student at St Edwards Academy:

“The play was so funny and we had so much fun at the theatre. The masterclass was amazing and I enjoyed learning how to deconstruct and perform a scene.”
