What we've been up to this month:

We successfully launched our expansion to the North West with a football tournament and showcase of FBB Schools: North West at Salford City Academy with 120 young people from our 7 partner schools taking part. The event was also an opportunity to welcome our new North West patron, Manchester United's Chris Smalling, who also attended the event.

Our Head of Social Action and Female Participation, Ceylon was guest on Guardian Football Weeklypodcast featuring segment on FBB and in the title of the episode. This resulted in £280 worth of donations, boost in social followers and volunteer enquiries.

On 28th February we held a 13 team corporate football tournament at PlayFootball in Shepherds Bush. It was attended by a range of corporate partners and raised over £3,000. The tournament has given us a good template and we are aiming to hold another in June.

We held a volunteering day with Blackbaud on Friday 22nd February. 11 of their team came to Brixton HQ and spent the day with young people from two of our schools The day centred around 21st century skills, particularly effective communication, creativity and problem solving. The team loved their day with FBB and are keen to get further involved. We have a range of volunteering packages with companies to participate in.
