What we've been up to this month:

Our MADs program resumed again this month, with the children and young people enjoying a range of fun activities with their siblings, including ice- skating and the cinema.

We had some lovely feedback from a children’s keyworker, reinforcing just how critical our work is to supporting the strengthening of sibling relationships through regular, age-appropriate activities in a relaxed environment.

The keyworker shared part of a conversation she recently had with a young person who attends MADs. The young person spoke very highly of the contact they are able to have with a sibling who lives with a different foster family. The keyworker said that the young person is always asking “when is the next MADs?” and wants constant updates as to whether their sibling will be able to come along.

The siblings have also requested to attend one of our Siblings Summer Camps together, which is testament to the work we do in strengthening relational bonds.

The children used to bicker constantly when they first attended MADs and we have seen immense improvements in their interactions and quality of relationship over recent months. We are just as excited as the children are with the prospect of them having a full week together at our summer camp!

And last but not least.....our Siblings Together Summer Camp Venues have been booked for three outdoor adventure camps in July, August and Oct 2017. Only a week has gone by and our Camps Coordinator (Matthew) tells us that places are filling up fast!

We are looking forward to keeping you up-to-date with our charity throughout 2017.....best wishes from all the team at Siblings Together!
