Sport 4 Life Apr 17 What we've been up to this month: This month, we’d like to tell you about a young man, Liam. Liam suffered from depression and alcohol addiction. He had no motivation to leave his house and didn’t know what to do with his life. A friend recommended a Sport 4 Life course to him, and with nothing to lose he decided to attend. Liam participated in three Sport 4 Life courses, gaining accredited qualifications, improving his life skills and enhancing his employability prospects. “I enjoyed every part of being involved with Sport 4 Life. The courses improved my skills, and gave me the tools to be more organised and ready for work.” As part of his journey with Sport 4 Life, Liam also received tailored one-to-one mentoring to support him in journey back into work. “The mentoring and continuous support I received empowered me to realise my own potential and start to make more of my life.” Liam identified a need to improve his maths and English, and following this he secured a full-time apprenticeship with a warehouse business. He now feels his life is back on track. “I thoroughly enjoy my new job. I now feel like I am achieving something in my life. Sport 4 life has filled me with confidence, I have made new friends, I’m better at communicating and I now have a positive outlook on life.” Liam is one of hundreds of young people we support to realise their potential and create a better future for themselves. We are proud to be able to play a part in the journey of young people, and appreciate your support in being able to do this.
