CONSEQUENCES OF NOT PROVIDING YOUR DATA

You are not obliged to provide your personal data to Raise Your Hands, however this information is used to provide you with updates on the use of your donation, potential benefits that may arise from that donation, free events and other services, and we will not be able to provide this information without your data.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

Raise Your Hands only keeps your data for as long as is necessary, and we regularly review the data we hold to ensure we meet those obligations. We are required under UK Tax law to keep your basic personal and Gift Aid information for at least 7 years. 

Where you have consented to us using your data to be in receipt of our newsletter and other marketing correspondence, we will keep such data until you notify us otherwise or withdraw your consent to receive such communications.

- when you sign up to become a member (regular donor) of Raise Your Hands
- when you make a donation to an appeal through the Raise Your Hands website

- Telephone Number
- Bank and/or credit/debit card details (where applicable)
- How you heard about us
- Whether your donation is eligible for Gift Aid (where applicable)

HOW RAISE YOUR HANDS USES YOUR DATA

Raise Your Hands takes your privacy very seriously, and we will never disclose, share, or sell your data without your prior consent unless required to do so by law. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purpose(s) specified within this policy.

The purposes and reasons for processing your data are:

- We collect your data in the performance of your donation, registration or transaction with Raise Your Hands
- We collect and store your data as part of our obligations for accounting and tax
- We send you information or details of events which you have specified as being interested in on signing up to our mailing list.
